Pricing & Plans
How much does Posto cost?
Posto offers four plans. Starter is free and includes up to 50 bookings per calendar month — no card required. Core is £49 per location per month and includes unlimited bookings and the full feature set. Pro is £99 per location per month and adds advanced features and priority support. Group is £249 per month and covers multi-site management with centralised reporting. There are no per-cover charges, no setup fees, and no hidden costs.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account starts on a 14-day Pro trial with access to the full platform. No card is required to start. After 14 days you can choose a paid plan or continue on the free Starter plan.
Does Posto charge per booking or per cover?
No. Posto charges a flat monthly fee only. There are no per-booking charges, no per-cover fees, and no commission on bookings. You keep 100% of every cover. This is the main structural difference from network-based platforms like OpenTable, which charge £1–£1.50 per cover for bookings sourced through their network.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time from your billing page — there are no cancellation fees and no minimum contract on monthly plans. Your guest data and booking history are yours to export before you leave. Posto does not delete your data immediately on cancellation; you have a grace period to export everything.
Are there annual plans?
Yes. Annual plans are available at a discount on the Core and Pro tiers. Billing switches to an annual upfront charge. You can switch between monthly and annual from your billing page.
Features & Setup
How long does setup take?
Most venues are live in under an hour. Create an account, add your venue details and opening hours, configure your services (lunch, dinner, set menus, etc.), and share your booking link or embed the form on your website. No developer is needed.
Can I use Posto for multiple venues?
Yes. Posto supports multi-venue management from a single account. Venues are managed independently with separate booking pages, guest lists, and settings. The Group plan (£249/month) is designed for operators running two or more locations and includes centralised reporting. Core and Pro plans can also be combined in one account with a per-location fee.
Can I collect deposits from diners?
Yes. Posto integrates with Stripe to collect deposits at the time of booking. You set a deposit amount per service — for example £10 per head for a set menu event. Deposits are held securely by Stripe and governed by the cancellation policy you configure. Deposit amounts can vary by service, party size threshold, or day of week.
Does Posto work with Square POS?
Yes. Posto has a built-in Square integration. Connect your Square account from Settings → Integrations and bookings sync automatically to Square Appointments. Cancellations and payment completions in Square are reflected in Posto.
Can my team access the dashboard?
Yes. Posto has role-based access control with four roles: Owner, Admin, Manager, and General Staff. Owners control billing and account settings. Admins manage services and availability. Managers handle walk-ins, table blocks, and day-to-day bookings. General Staff have read access. You can invite team members by email from the Team page — invitations expire after 7 days.
Can I embed the booking form on my own website?
Yes. Every venue has a hosted booking page at getposto.com/book/[your-slug] and an embeddable iframe widget. Copy the embed code from your dashboard and paste it into any website — no developer required. The form uses your brand colour and logo automatically.
Guest Data & GDPR
Who owns my guest data?
You do. Your guest list, booking history, and contact details belong entirely to you. Posto never sells, shares, or uses your guest data for marketing. You can export your full guest list as a CSV at any time from the Guests page. When you cancel your account, your data remains available for export during the grace period.
Is Posto GDPR compliant?
Yes. Posto is built for UK GDPR compliance. Guest marketing consent is opt-in only — the checkbox on the booking form is unchecked by default and consent is never pre-ticked. Diners can exercise their right to erasure (right to be forgotten), which you can action from the Guests page. All data is processed under UK GDPR and Posto acts as your data processor under a Data Processing Agreement, which you agree to on account activation.
Does Posto have a Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?
Yes. A DPA is included in your account activation and is published at getposto.com/legal/dpa. It lists all sub-processors (Supabase, Resend, Stripe), confirms UK-based data residency, and sets out breach notification obligations. This satisfies Article 28 of the UK GDPR for operators using Posto to process guest personal data.
Comparisons
How is Posto different from OpenTable?
The main difference is the pricing model. OpenTable charges a per-cover fee for bookings made through their consumer discovery network — typically £1–£1.50 per cover for network bookings — on top of a monthly subscription. For a busy restaurant doing 2,000 covers a month through the network, that's £2,000–£3,000 per month in cover fees alone. Posto charges a flat monthly fee with no per-cover costs. You also own your guest data with Posto; on OpenTable, the network retains the diner relationship for bookings it sources.
How is Posto different from ResDiary?
ResDiary is a mature UK reservation platform with advanced yield management, a wide integrations ecosystem, and dedicated account management. Posto is simpler, more affordable, and designed for UK independents who need solid core reservation management without enterprise complexity or lengthy onboarding. Posto is the right choice if you need great reservations, a clean guest CRM, and team management — and don't need yield management or a complex integrations stack.
Can I switch from OpenTable or ResDiary to Posto?
Yes. You can run Posto in parallel during a trial period before switching. Booking history and guest records can be imported — contact support for assistance with migrations from major platforms. There's no long-term lock-in with Posto, so switching back is straightforward if needed.
